Varicose Veins Treatment

They are typically caused by venous insufficiency. Venous insufficiency occurs when the tiny valves inside the vein stop working and become leaky. When the valves don’t work well the blood refluxes back down the leg and causes the dilated vein.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy uses an irritating solution called a sclerosant, which is injected directly into a vein or lymph vessel. The solution irritates the vessel, causing it to swell. This swelling cuts off the flow of blood or lymphatic fluid and the vessel shrinks.

Our Comprehensive Vein Procedures

At CVD Vein Clinic in Fall River, MA, we provide vein procedures in a comfortable, boutique-style clinic. All procedures are performed in-house in our designated operating room. Our board-certified physicians are some of the top vein specialists in the local area. Many same-day procedures that previously had to be performed at the hospital can be performed as outpatient procedures in our office. We offer sclerotherapy, vein ablation, venography with advanced interventions, laser vein removal, and more. Below, we go into detail about the vein procedures we perform at our facility.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a procedure in which we seal the small visible veins by injecting them with a material that causes them to close and be absorbed by the body. They will become less visible or disappear altogether. This is the standard treatment if you’re looking to treat small spider veins or your more prominent varicose veins.

Laser Vein Removal
Laser vein removal offers patients several advantages over other vein removal treatments. There are two types of laser vein removal procedures – one is performed outside the vein, and the other is performed inside the vein. The advantages of laser vein removal include:

  • High success rate
  • Minimal discomfort
  • Quick recovery time
  • Fewer complications
Vein Ablation
Vein Ablation is a minor outpatient surgical procedure where we close the vein responsible for causing pain, swelling, and the growth of varicose veins. It is done in the office and takes around half an hour.
Venography
In this outpatient surgical procedure, we can open up occluded or narrow deep veins, place stents, dissolve and remove clots, and seal veins causing problems. We are the first center in Massachusetts to perform venography with advanced interventions in an office setting.
Radiofrequency Ablation
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a medical procedure that treats varicose veins. This procedure uses radiofrequency (RF) heat to close off blood flow in the primary problem vein.
